About the event

Ireland’s County Kerry native 22-year old multi-instrumentalist, Lorraine Nash, is one of Ireland’s newest rising talents. Lorraine’s vocal emanates from a soulful place, somewhere between Tracy Chapman and Gillian Welch, evoking Americana and folk tones. Lorraine has been performing since she was young and is a talented pianist, guitar, harp, flute and violin player. Equally at home in Irish Trad, Lorraine’s original material brings an eclectic mix of music traditions to the table, while ensuring that her own unique voice and élan comes through unmistakably.

Lorraine has managed to establish herself as a songwriter and performer of esteem and recognition appearing on numerous ‘Recommends’ playlists on Ireland’s public broadcaster, RTE Radio 1 and bringing her sound across the water to the UK and US. Over the past year Lorraine has performed at high profile events such as Your Roots are Showing folk conference, Indiependence Presents: Autumn Air, The Ruby Sessions, and Breaking Sound UK. She has also performed in renowned venues such Cork Opera House, Triskel Arts Centre and St. Luke’s. Lorraine Nash was featured in the Irish Independent as One to Watch for 2022, with John Meagher drawing comparison between her and the likes of Lankum, John Francis Flynn and Ye Vagabonds. John Creedon of RTÉ Radio 1 has said of Lorraine, “The future is her oyster. It must be brilliant when you have one hit single where you can say ya I really nailed it….but when people produce one after next you have to sit up and take notice.” Her Debut Album, All That I Can Be, was released in 2023 to wide acclaim, and follows the success of her 2020 EP Wildflower.
