About the event

Nathanael O'Reilly was born in Warrnambool, raised in Ballarat/Brisbane/Shepparton. He now lives in Fort Worth and teaches creative writing at the University of Texas at Arlington. He is the author of eight collections of poetry, including Boulevard (Beir Bua Press, 2021);(Un)belonging (Recent Work Press, 2020); Preparations for Departure (UWAP, 2017); Distance (Ginninderra Press, 2015); Suburban Exile (Picaro Press, 2011); and Symptoms of Homesickness (Picaro Press, 2010). His poetry appears in journals and anthologies published in fourteen countries, including Cordite Poetry Review, fourW, New World Writing, Mascara Literary Review, Transnational Literature and Westerly. He has given poetry readings in Australia, Canada, England, Hungary, Ireland, Italy and the United States. He is the poetry editor for Antipodes: A Global Journal of Australian/New Zealand Literature. Nathanael will be joined by our regional poet Brendan Ryan, and we also invite other regional poets to come along and take the opportunity to also present some of your work.
