Talking Stories with Jackie Kerin
Time & Location
About The Event
60 mins of story plus 15 mins for chatting
Jackie Kerin is a storyteller in the traditional sense of the word. In Talking Stories she will share with you some of her favourites and how she uses her skill to raise awareness for migratory shore birds and landscape.
Be transfixed by ancient folk tales and original yarns artfully crafted for contemporary ears; be introduced to the Japanese storytelling box, Kamishibai (paper theatre), the precursor to manga and animation; delight in oral storytelling and the beauty of spoken language.
Jackie is fond of reminding us: Before there were books there were stories, and the stories are connected to the book - like blossom to fruit. She is also an author of non-fiction picture books for children.
